In the summer of 1971 The Rolling Stones moved into a Belle Epoque mansion on the french riviera called Villa Nelcöte. For six months, extravagant luxury met rock and roll while they recorded their album under sparkling chandeliers and gilded ceilings. For the Spring Summer 2025 show GESTUZ was inspired by a summer of rock, glamour and the women who lived it, opening the doors to Villa GESTUZ. A place where luxury and vintage rock aren't opposites, but in perfect harmony. An enhancement of aunthentic personal style and the deepest core of GESTUZ.
Floor-length pearl dresses, washed denim, leather leopard blazers and 70s silhouttes all co-exists in a collection better than the sum of its parts. Welcome to Villa GESTUZ.
Muses such as Bianca Jagger and Jane Birkin encompasses the aunthenticity, contrast and luxury that are key words for the collection. The rockstar wives of the 70s played a central role in the entire culture surrounding them, and this season GESTUZ is putting them front and center. They are the stars. The collections tilts it hat to the effortlessness of French and Scandinavian women, and the ever-present rock and roll inspiration of GESTUZ shows through unpolished glimpses in between the luxury.
"My vision was to create a collection that embraced a summer of luxurious rock and roll. I looked towards the strong women of the 70s, especially in the music scene, and found such a power in the way they created their own personal narrativ in the way they dressed. They looked just as amazing in a full-length pearl dress as they did in jeans or a suit. And that is very much the essence of what I want to create with each collection. The IT women of this period were somehow both overdressed and underdressed at the same time, and I just love that. The societal rules of what to wear and when are pushed away, and instead they created their own language of imperfect luxury and personal style." Creative Director Sanne Sehested.
70s menswear and tailoring is presented through tight fitted suits, oversized lapels, flowy shirts, sharp shoulders and flared trousers worthy of Mick Jagger. Combined with distinct feminine elements such as floor-length silhouttes, co-ords and cinched waists, the collection seeks to portray a modern take on the 70s glamourous rock muse. Everyday looks co-exists between festive partywear, and the distinction between the two is blurred, continuing the reimagination of occasion wear from the AW24 show.
Key colors include light blues, neutral earthy tones, crisp whites with pops of deep black and soft yellow. The 70s inspired leopard print is embraced on different fabrics and plays a key role in the summer collection.
The show is hosted in the historic Moltkes Palæ. The 300 year old mansion in the centre of Copenhagen draws the mind to the gilded halls of the Belle Epoque mansion, and mixing the two worlds of luxury and rock, Danish artist Brimheim is invited to perform live at the SS25 show, paying homage to the old rock legends creating magic under beautiful chandeliers.
