“Aesthetics of the New Era”: The Image of the Spring Riga Fashion Week Unveiled

The Baltic Fashion Federation, organizers of Riga Fashion Week, has announced the visual image for the spring edition of the event, which will take place in mid-April. This season, the model embodies a collective image of a woman who freely combines romanticism and strength, tradition and avant-garde.

The styling was created by leading Latvian stylist and art director Anatoly Ksenofontov.

“The image was born from reflections on how the concept of femininity is transforming today. I was inspired by the aesthetics of the ‘new era’ — the intersection of couture tradition and digital futurism, where classicism no longer opposes experimentation but becomes its foundation,” Anatoly comments.

A special place in the look is given to a voluminous white dress with an almost bridal mood by Latvian designer Anna Gulbe — a conscious reference to the archetype of purity and beginnings. However, in the 2026 interpretation, it is no longer a symbol of naivety but a blank canvas for self-expression. Layered over it is a structured corset as a sign of inner support and control over form. It does not restrict — it disciplines strength. The striking appearance of model Alisa Ontensone enhances the contrasts within the image.

“The central element of the look is the Cloud Dancer-colored dress, officially recognized as the Color of the Year 2026 by Pantone. The overall image symbolizes the continuity of fashion — its existence both outside of time and in this very moment. It constantly changes yet remains recognizable. Always slightly careless, slightly daring, and very free,” adds renowned Latvian photographer Polina Vijun, the author of the campaign imagery.

The main partners of Riga Fashion Week are the State Culture Capital Foundation and the Investment and Development Agency of Latvia.
