MUNTHE S/S'25: the Concept of “Planting a Seed”

“The concept of “planting a seed” embodies the essence of uncertainty yet signifies both beginnings and endings. Witnessing growth, whether of an idea or a literal seed, is deeply inspiring. This season, my vision was to take inspiration from “planting a seed” and watch it grow, not knowing what the end result would be.

"Taking this process, merging it with two of our core pillars, art and responsibility, resulted in the creation of our enchanting 'Pressed Flowers' print. Originating from carefully selected seeds, grown and cared for within the sanctuary of my home, each petal was delicately pressed and arranged by hand. This captivating print stands as the cornerstone of our collection. Art is the very heartbeat of MUNTHE, an eternal muse that continually fuels our creative journey. As we step into Spring Summer 2025, this profound wellspring of inspiration manifests itself in this meticulously handcrafted print. Every color showcased is a reflection of the vibrant flowers cultivated specifically for the collection. These dynamic colors grace our garments, adorning bomber jackets, embroidered dresses and shirts crafted from silk. Each piece, a testament to the harmonious marriage of artistry and responsibility, echoing the spirit of the brand." - Naja Munthe, Creative Director and Founder of MUNTHE.

Collection Inspiration

One of the key ethos of MUNTHE is art. As a core pillar of the brand, art consistently serves as a source of inspiration. For the Spring Summer 2025 collection, this inspiration manifests as a beautiful and intricate print, meticulously crafted by hand to celebrate MUNTHE's dedication to craftsmanship. The creation process for this print began with organic flowers grown and curated at the residence of Naja, MUNTHE's founder. Naja personally planted carefully selected flower seeds in a small greenhouse. Once the flowers had fully bloomed, they were picked and pressed according to her vision. These pressed flowers were then arranged by hand to form the print, which became the central inspiration for the Spring Summer 2025 collection. The vast color palette in the collection stems from the flowers represented in the unique print. Hues of blue, light yellow, calming light purple, and striking red appear alongside clear white and light grey, emphasizing the essence of spring and summer. Dresses adorned with three-dimensional flower embroidery, leather skirts, and bomber jackets elaborately quilted with floral patterns exemplify MUNTHE's artistry. These pieces not only highlight the brand's commitment to craftsmanship but also reflect its heritage. This thoughtful integration of organic elements and meticulous design reinforces MUNTHE's dedication to blending art with fashion, creating designs that are both visually stunning and deeply meaningful.

A conscious journey towards a more responsible future

It has always been core to the MUNTHE brand to be conscious and constantly reflect on how we conduct ourselves. Being a fashion brand, we acknowledge that, by nature, we are in an industry that faces challenges regarding responsibility. However, we believe that by using our brand as a powerful platform and enacting the very change we want to see in others, we can initiate small changes that will accumulate into bigger ones over time. We interpret responsibility holistically and believe that we are on a never-ending journey, constantly exploring and evaluating how to best invest in progress. We need to take an honest look at all aspects of our production, from choosing the best low-impact materials to creating the best working conditions for our suppliers and employees. The Spring Summer 2025 collection is made of 50% more responsible materials. At MUNTHE, we have criteria that our more responsible styles are made from a minimum of 50% recycled or certified lowimpact materials that have a better and gentler environmental footprint. During 2024, we will publish our first responsibility report. Until then, you can read more about our five sustainability commitments on MUNTHE.com.
