Originally commissioned by Catherine de’ Medici and later redesigned under Louis XIV, the Jardins des Tuileries has always been a stage for seeing and being seen. That spirit continues in the garden today, where a walk in the park becomes a procession, and fleeting glances and chance encounters unfold against a backdrop of statues, fountains and carefully patterned parterres.
The Dior Autumn Winter 2026–2027 collection show space reflected this dynamic relationship between fashion, movement and place. An imitation park was constructed within the Tuileries itself, blurring the boundaries between the real and the unreal. Artificial water lilies were placed on the surface of the iconic Bassin Octogonal, while floral prints on garments echoed the real flowers surrounding the park.
The collection considers the enduring theatre of Parisian life and the timeless role of fashion within it. “This collection is about the constant flow of ideas that is so typical of Parisian life, and the spectacle of the everyday,” says the creative director at Dior.
