Cartier celebrates the opening of its new Berlin boutique
Designed by renowned designer Bruno Moinard, whose partnership with Cartier spans decades, the boutique’s interior is a harmonious balance of tradition and modernity. Customers are welcomed by a mosaic staircase crafted by Berlin artist Svenja Teichert of Cosmomusivo. This artistic element sets the tone for a space that captures the intersection of tradition and modern craftsmanship.

To create a refined atmosphere, Moinard’s design employs a carefully selected palette of materials and colors. The boutique features floors of Elite Stone, which add a grounding elegance, while textured wall coverings and custom Cartier leather add depth and warmth. The color palette flows from soft Mother of Pearl to a rich Schloss Charlottenburg blue, accented by luxurious champagne-hued metals on the engraved lift doors.
Adding to the boutique’s unique character, Cedric Pelletier designed an outstanding back wall in the welcoming display area, adorned with a peacock motif. This artwork pays homage to Berlin’s historic Peacock Island (Pfaueninsel), a UNESCO World Heritage site, reinforcing the boutique’s connection to local culture and landmarks.
In keeping with Cartier's dedication to craftsmanship, the renovation showcases unique pieces created by local artisans. Jérémy Bellina, a French Berlin-based potter, brings handmade decorative pieces that evoke a journey through time, blending past and future with a special artistic touch. Also featured are exquisite porcelain creations from the renowned Königliche Porzellan-Manufaktur Berlin (KPM), a centuries-old institution known for producing masterpieces of craftsmanship.
A standout element in the boutique is the straw marquetry panel by Studio François Mascarello. The panel draws inspiration from the iconic panther motif, reinterpreted with Berlin's landmarks, including the Brandenburg Gate and the Fernsehturm (TV Tower). The panel combines abstraction and realism, enhancing the boutique’s interior with vibrancy and craftsmanship.
The historic building at Kurfürstendamm 187, 10707 Berlin, once home to theatre legend Rudolph Nelson, who brought Josephine Baker to the city in the 1920s, has always been a cultural hub. Now, with a newly sales area of 282 square meters, the renovated boutique invites customers to experience luxury on an unprecedented scale. Each room carries subtle references to Berlin’s past while introducing elements of contemporary luxury, creating a space that feels both timeless and innovative.
The reopening of Cartier's Berlin boutique promises to offer customers an immersive experience, combining the best of craftsmanship, culture, and luxury in one exceptional location.
