To the strength of volumes, the balance of colours, and the space between full and empty: everything is in harmony at Cartier. It’s all about precision, nothing in excess, which sets its style and creations apart. From simplicity to extravagance, through to subtle shades and bold chromatic harmonies, balancing symmetry and asymmetry: harmony is also born from the exploration and reconciliation of opposing forces. This singular vision is a balancing act, a tightrope that defines the Maison’s creative approach.
Euphonia
With this necklace, Cartier celebrates the harmony of a rare combination of stones: one batch of rubies and one batch of diamonds, brought together by their complementary emerald cut.
This exceptional pairing, enriched by square-cut, baguette-cut and brilliant-cut diamonds, defines the abstract design of the piece. On the back, a clasp slides over both strands of the necklace, lending an adjustability to the fluidity of the whole. Between the openwork, geometric shapes, and alternating stones, this composition emanates a precious vitality, carried by a powerful rhythm.
Splendea
To bring together 34 perfectly matched diamonds is to achieve the exceptional. Cartier goes one step further and enhances them in a ribbon of light. The construction of this piece and the precise positioning of each stone spark a rhythm, a dynamic, the sensation of an uninterrupted wave. The finesse of the jewellery work and the almost imperceptible settings are a celebration of the Maison’s expertise.
Parcae
Simplicity and refinement epitomised: this necklace celebrates the notion of essential design, the idea of “nothing in excess” defines its very essence as a signature of Cartier high jewellery.
Guided by precise lines, refined expertise and an elegant drape, the eye is drawn to three pear-shaped Madagascar sapphires weighing a total of 16.59 carats. These extraordinarily radiant stones line up, in perfect equilibrium, to trace the necklace’s centre of gravity.
The three blue drops converge on intense diamond strands, whose variety of cuts – kite, diamond and brilliant – infuse the design with rhythm and structure.
Ondora
Reflecting the Maison’s signature use of colours and materials, this necklace combines chrysoprase and spinels with fine punctuations of turquoise and diamond.
Present in the Maison’s stylistic vocabulary since the beginning of the 20th century, this chromatic encounter is balanced in a dialogue between the organic and geometric. Chrysoprase beads and cabochons strike a brilliant contrast in a setting of square-cut and brilliant-cut diamonds, studded with spinels.
On the front and back of the necklace are two elegantly matched pendants – the one on the back is adjustable, testament to the expertise rooted in the Maison’s great tradition of transformable jewellery. The inspiration behind this fluid, mobile piece? Jellyfish and their free-flowing movements, elevated by Cartier into an abstract motif.
“Creating a distinctive line through understatement is the paradox of sophisticated simplicity. It’s the art of looking at things differently, but also the art of balancing them with precision. It’s the art of balance, at the heart of our creative approach, that reveals Cartier’s harmony,” says Jacqueline Karachi, Director of High Jewellery Creation.
“The real challenge in our High Jewellery business lies in the technical transcription of the original aesthetic intention. Everything hinges on the precision and mastery of our artisans, who give life to exceptional pieces that are charged with emotion,” notes Alexa Abitbol, Director of The High Jewellery Workshops.
