From Cockpit to Runway: Amelia Earhart Inspires Baum und Pferdgarten AW26
Baum und Pferdgartens Autumn Winter 2026 collection, Airborne, draws inspiration from the golden age of aviation. The muse of the collection is the late Amelia Earhart, the pioneering aviator who moved effortlessly between worlds in her Lockheed Electra 10E.

Beyond being a record-breaking pilot, Amelia Earhart also pioneered fashion through her personal style and was one of the first to cross boundaries between men’s and women’s fashion. On duty, her wardrobe reflected the demands of aviation: structured uniforms, mechanical workwear, and functional layers built for performance and protection. Off duty, a contrasting sensibility emerged through dresses, scarves, florals, and tactile materials. This contrast became the foundation of the Baum und Pferdgarten FW26 collection.
“Inspired by Amelia Earhart, we explored how uniforms originally designed for a masculine approach can exist alongside elegant and sophisticated wearers. The collection brings together strength and sensitivity, using utilitarian silhouettes softened by fluid fabrics and expressive details,” Rikke Baumgarten and Helle Hestehave, Creative Directors.
Aviator-inspired jackets, uniform shirts, distressed leather, and rigid denim form the backbone of the wardrobe. Outerwear plays a central role: puffed jackets, structured coats, and oversized aviator silhouettes dominate, evoking protection, strength, and adventure. These utilitarian foundations are offset by fluid dresses, lace trims, scarf inspired details, lightweight fabrics, and floral prints, underlining the contrast-driven nature of the collection.
The Airborne collection was presented at a large-scale fashion show during Copenhagen Fashion Week at a historic athletic hall in the center of Copenhagen. The show was staged on a runway designed to resemble a landing strip, setting the scene for the collection’s aviation-inspired narrative. It was accompanied by the girls’ choir from the prestigious Sankt Annæ Music Academy, adding a ceremonial atmosphere to the historic setting.
The runway cast featured a mix of models and friends of the house, including both new and familiar faces from the BP family. The key cast consisted of Clara Dessau, Mona Omar, Andrea Östlund and Juni Cederfeldt. Make-up was provided by M.A.C. Cosmetics Nordics, and hair was styled by Oribe.
A runway-exclusive T-shirt was also showcased during the show, mentioning the phrase: “Good girls fly to heaven, BP girls fly backstage.” This limited-edition piece will be available for immediate purchase on Baum und Pferdgarten’s webshop and at the Copenhagen flagship store right after the show.
